Maryland Alumni Association Scholarships

The Maryland Alumni Association is committed to supporting excellence by providing scholarship opportunities. The alumni association will provide 15 scholarships; 10 undergraduate students will each receive $2000 and 5 graduate students will each receive $3,000. In addition to a minimum 3.0 GPA for undergraduates and 3.0 GPA for graduate students, ideal applicants will volunteer in their communities or on campus, participate in extracurricular activities and write a compelling essay on building Terrapin spirit among the student body. Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship

Congratulations to Maurice Nick '12, recipient of the 2011-2012 Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship is made possible thanks to a generous gift from Col. J. Logan Schutz '38, '40, past executive director and director emeritus of the Maryland Alumni Association. It is presented annually to a student with at least 56 credit hours (Junior status) attending the University of Maryland, College Park who is also a legacy student.

More information about the Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship:
  • To be considered, students must have at least 56 credits at Maryland and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be involved in at least one of these areas: leadership/student organizations, athletics, religious/civic activities and community service. 
  • Scholarship will award $750 to a current student at the University of Maryland, College Park.
